ABOUT BROOKE BOVE
Ernest Hemingway was right - writing doesn’t have to be overwhelming. For many lawyers, though, the pressure associated with drafting briefs and other legal documents can make it difficult to create that one true sentence that persuades the judge to rule in their favor. I am so passionate about legal writing and its importance in litigation for plaintiffs that I started Ghost Briefs to provide quality legal writing to others who do not have the time or inclination to write those sometimes tedious, but really important, briefs. Plaintiffs are best served when we all work together and use our strengths for their good. Call me when you need a team of legal writing technicians.
EXPERIENCE
I have had a storied life that has given me the experience and qualifications that make me a good tool to have in your corner as you navigate litigation. Small town Wyoming, Army service as an intelligence analyst and Arabic translator, Bachelor’s degree in English, editor in chief of my college newspaper, legal secretary, paralegal, law degree magna cum laude, law review (including a year as lead articles editor), 13 years as an attorney fighting for Plaintiffs during which I’ve written (and won) nearly 200 MSJ Oppositions as well as 25+ appellate writs and briefs written and argued at the state and Federal levels.
Actively Involved In The Legal Field Outside The Courtroom
Beyond the courtroom, I work hard to remain current on caselaw and trends that shape the legal landscape. I keep abreast of technology and how it can improve the way we provide services. I am also actively involved in several respected legal organizations, which allows me to provide the cutting-edge counsel and work-product that my clients deserve. I have been a Board member of the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA) for more than 5 years, and I am actively involved in the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC). I am a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) and its Appellate Law Section, and the Orange County Women Lawyers Association (OCWLA).
Securing Positive Outcomes Since 2011
Whether you need help with brief drafting, discovery strategies, legal arguments related to summary adjudication and other dispositive motions, or protecting your record for a potential appeal, I have the experience to provide quality documents and advice. Since 2011, I have advocated for plaintiffs in California’s lower and higher courts. I have honed my writing and legal analysis skills over the past decade, establishing a well-earned reputation for crafting effective briefs for a variety of issues that include employment discrimination and personal injury claims. I have trained (and continue to train) my attorneys to provide the same attention to detail, methodology for drafting and polishing legal briefs and supporting documents, and the importance of understanding the elements that distinguish a basic brief from an excellent one.
